Toner Goes Under The Knife

All Sport

The IRFU have confirmed that Devin Toner has undergone surgery on his injured ankle.

The second row will be out for two-months, rendering him very likely to miss Leinster's Heineken Champions Cup quarter final with Wasps.

Toner originally suffered the injury before January's pool game away to Wasps, and it was aggravated during last week's Six Nations loss to England at the Aviva.

Meanwhile, Sean O'Brien's fitness is "being managed", which is why the Leinster back row sat out today's captains run at Murrayfield.

The flanker was only drafted into the starting fifteen yesterday to replace Josh van der Flier.
