Shane Ryan is into the final of the 50 meters backstroke at the World Short Course Swimming Championships in China.
He broke the Irish record to make the semis and went on to break it again in reaching the final.

The European bronze medallist qualified fourth quickest overall in a time of 22.96 seconds.
The final takes place tomorrow afternoon.
