There was further bad news for Ireland coach Joe Schmidt this morning.
Following his team's shock defeat to World Cup hosts Japan, Schmidt confirmed that Jack Conan's tournament is over. The Leinster back row has broken a bone in his foot, and Jordi Murphy is expected to travel to Japan as cover.
He was left out of Ulster's opening Pro 14 victory over Ospreys last night, fuelling speculation that me might be about to join up with Ireland.
