Henshaw blow for Leinster

All Sport

Leinster will be without Robbie Henshaw for the start of the season.

It's after he had to undergo surgery on a pectoral muscle injury.

Lions Doctor, Eanna Falvey, has confirmed that Henshaw tore the muscle completely from the bone during the Lions draw with the Hurricanes a week ago and he could now be out until late October.

Meanwhile it's still not clear how long Jared Payne will be out for - as he continues to suffer from migranes.

The Ulster and Ireland centre was pulled out of the squad before the Lions match with the Hurricanes because of headaches - and is still being tested.

Payne suffered a head knock in an earlier tour game with the Chiefs - but was cleared of concussion.
