Doherty scores while Spurs hold on for win

Doherty put Wolves in the driving seat

Ten-man Tottenham Hotspur held on for a narrow 2-1 victory over Southampton this afternoon in the Premier League.

Serge Aurier was sent off inside 31 minutes for two bookable offences, but Spurs still managed to take a lead into the break through goals from Ndombele and Kane. Danny Ings had equalised for the visitors in between the host's goals.

Matt Doherty got in on the scoring act at Molineux. The Republic of Ireland defender, who might be getting more of a look in with the national side after recent injuries to Richard Keogh and Shane Duffy.

Elswhere, Chelsea beat Brighton 2-0, with Jorginho and Willian hitting he net at Stamford Bridge.

Crystal Palace beat Norwich by the same score, while there were a brace of 2-2 draws between Aston Villa and Burnley, and Bournemouth and West Ham.
