He beat Mitchel Mann this afternoon by 18 points to 15 at Milton Keynes.
Elsewhere Gerard Greene beat Jimmy White while Declan Lavery overcame Leo Fernandez in the all-Irish affair. Later, Mark Allen faces Dylan Emery, with the third round taking place tomorrow from 1 o'clock.
The tournament is played with a shot clock with each frame lasting a maximum of 10 minutes.
