Bizarre Aherne goal helps Dublin past Donegal

All Sport
The Dubs emerged three point winners

Dublin started the defence of their TG4 All-Ireland Championship title with a hard-fought three-point win over Donegal on Saturday evening.

The Tír Chonaill women started well, and led by a couple of points early on. But A Noelle Healy goal turned the tide, and the Blues led by five at half-time.

Donegal were putting the Dubs under pressure, and closed within a point, before a very unusual three-pointer for the Dublin skipper, which you can see below.

It gave them the breathing space they needed to hold on for a three-point win.

Next up for Mick Bohan's side is a game against Waterford next month.
