An 18 year old woman has been seriously assaulted in County Kildare.
The woman was discovered injured on the footpath at the entrance of the Moyglare Abbey Estate in Maynooth shortly before 8.30 last night.
She received medical assistance at the scene before being taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown.
The scene has been preserved for technical examination and no arrests have been made.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
