There was a security alert in Mountjoy Prison overnight.
The alarm was raised yesterday evening when two inmates managed to gain access to the prison roof just after half past six.
Specialist staff arrived on the scene shortly after that the negotiate with the men, who eventually came down at about 10 o'clock.
The Irish Prison Service has confirmed that no one was injured during the incident.
