Rapid Result Testing Could Be On The Way To Schools

Rapid-result antigen testing for Covid-19 could be rolled out in schools next month.

The HSE and NPHET are considering the move in a bid to reassure teachers that outbreaks are quickly being detected, according to the Sunday Times.

'Dedicated schools teams' comprising of health experts and education officials will also be made available to help principles with staffing difficulties.

The paper also reports principles in at least five schools in the midlands and southeast were asked by the HSE to carry out their schools' contact tracing in the last fortnight due to case overload.
