Councillors last night voted to keep it at the lower rate.

Dublin city councillors have voted in favour of keeping the lower rate of local property tax for next year.

It can be raised or lowered from it's base rate by 15 per cent every year by local reps.

It means the council will miss out on more than 15 million euro in funding.

However, 2025 is expected to be the last year of of the lower rate of local property tax, with higher charges on the way in 2026.

It's because Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, the Greens and Labour agreed to end lower charges.
