It happened near the Convention Centre yesterday morning.

A man is due in court following an alleged assault in the Docklands.

It's understood a woman was attacked as she walked on Mayor Street Upper at around 6am yesterday morning.

The Mirror reports she was brutally injured after being followed by a man.

The paper also says that two people ran to her aid - one was a worker in a local shop and the other was a passerby.

The attacker fled the scene but was later found and arrested by Gardai.

A man has since been charged, he’s due in court later.

A garda spokesperson said, "Gardaí have charged the man, who was arrested in relation to the investigation of the alleged assault that occurred at Mayor Street Upper, Dublin 1 in the early hours of the morning of Monday 19th August, 2024.

"He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice, this morning."

This assault comes just days after a separate incident in which another woman was allegedly attacked in Ballybough while on her way to a concert in Croke Park.

Investigations into that incident are ongoing.
