Irish Rail has been posting updates on 'X' for rail users.
Irish Rail services have been suspended this afternoon.
The suspension is affecting routes between Drogheda and Balbriggan and will be in place until further notice.
A message first posted on 'X' shortly after 12pm explained there was a 'tragic incident on the line'.
Emergency services have attended the scene.

Irish Rail says services are operating normally between Connolly and Balbriggan.
The company added that bus transfers will be operating between Drogheda and Balbriggan for the foreseeable.
