The Tunisian suspect in the Berlin truck attack has reportedly been in contact with a network of leading Islamist ideologists.
German media also says he previously applied for asylum and received a residency permit.
Islamic State has claimed responsibility for Monday's attack, which killed 12 people.
But Security expert Alexander Ritzmann isn't convinced the terror group was behind it.
