An investigation's continuing into the discovery of a loaded sub machine gun in Lucan.
On Sunday evening armed gardai carried out a targetted search operation in the Balgaddy area.
Officers from the National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau were behind the raid supported by the Special Crime Task Force.
During searches a loaded sub machine gun was discovered along with a clip of ammo.
A 20 year old man was arrested and detained at Ronanstown Garda Station.
It's believed the gun find is linked to gangs in west Dublin.
A deadly fued in the area has so far claimed 4 lives.
