More than 30,000 people are expected to attend the festival this weekend.

Gardaí have launched an interactive map to help people driving to Electric Picnic this weekend.

Campsites at the festival open for early entry ticket holders at 4pm today, and at 9am tomorrow for general admission.

Motorists are being warned to expect delays in and out of Stradbally, and a visible Garda presence from today until Monday evening.

Superintendent Eamonn Curley is encouraging drivers to avoid using Sat Nav or GPS devices when heading to the Laois site:

"There are five dedicated routes to the event. These routes cover people travelling from Dublin, Cork, Limerick, the West of Ireland and the South East, and directions are clearly set out on this interactive map to get you to the dedicated car parks for that route.

Superintendent Curley is making this request of festival-goers:

"I would ask festival goers to also follow event signage in place close to the event. This interactive map shows all the key locations associated with the event site, including campsites and services and various stage locations."
