Former Garda Commissioner Nóirín O'Sullivan's been appointed to a high level role in the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
She's been appointed Director of Strategic Partnerships for Europe in the organisation.
The association has members in 150 countries but this is the first time a staff member will be based outside the US.
