Dublin the deadliest place for road deaths of children

In a recent RSA report, it showed 30% of child deaths occurred in Dublin.

56 children under the age of 15 were killed on the nation's roads between 2014 and 2022.

While 852 children were seriously injured during this period.

Dublin and Cork experienced the highest numbers of road fatalities among children.

67% of child casualties were injured on urban roads with a speed limit of 60km/h or less.

A report by the Road Safety Authority, shows 30% of child deaths occurred in Dublin.

The report was published this week as part of Irish Road Safety Week 2023.

A total of 139 people have been killed on Irish roads to date in 2023.
