Dublin City Council To Take Legal Action Over Levelling Of O'Rahilly House

All Q102 News

Dublin City Council is to take legal action over the demolition of a house which belonged to a 1916 leader, according to the Irish Times.

40 Herbert Park in Ballsbridge was bulldozed earlier this week to make way for 105 luxury apartments.

The property was the former home of Michael Joseph O'Rahilly, the only leader to have been killed fighting during the 1916 Rising.

Councillors had voted to protect the house as a listed building earlier this month.
