The Housing Minister claims he's clamping down on AirBnB lets.

Around 3,000 people in the city rent out properties without permission for a change of use from residential to commerical short-term letting.

Some landlords are reportedly earning nearly double the average rent through Air Bnb..

With the city in the grip of a rent and housing crisis, Minister Eoghan Murphy is pledging a no tolerance approach to anyone breaching planning laws.

However, he says he doens't want to deny people the opprtunity to use AirBnb to let out rooms or homes for a few weeks a year.

A working group is expected to make reccomendations in the Autum while AirBnb says it welcomes discussion on clear home sharing rules in Ireland.
