New data from the Central Bank has shown the continued rise.

Ireland continues to be dominated by cashless transactions, but Dublin has ranked as the second highest when it comes to withdrawing cash from ATMs.

The research in the Behind the Data paper shows that tap-and-go transactions account for 84% of all payments in the country.

53% of all card payments were made in Dublin, with Cork and Galway next on the list.

Card payments in Dublin came to €12.6 million per 1,000 people.

Mobile wallets such as apple and google pay are also on the rise.
