Clampers Cough Up Refunds

It's emerged two in five Dublin drivers get their clamping charges refunded.

A total of 1-thousand-783 second stage clamping appeals in Dublin were completed by the National Transport Authority last year.

According to the Times Ireland Edition, 728 of those were given a full refund -- a rate of about 41 percent, or two in five drivers.

The paper claims 978 clamped drivers were told they're not getting a refund, while twelve were given a partial refund, and the last 65 withdrew their appeal.

The National Transport Authority's responsible for the appeals process, and says it dealth with 47 complaints about clamping last year -- eleven of which were fully upheld.
