Around 315-thousand people visited Dublin city centre for this year's St Patrick's Day.

Footfall for the entire week was 2.5 million, equating to about 1.6 million people.

This was 87% of the 2019 level and 90.5% of the 2018 level for the same week.

DublinTown Chief Executive, Richard Guiney, said; ‘’The footfall figures for last week were extremely strong and it has never been needed more by businesses in the city.

There were a huge number of visitors from overseas again, particularly from the US, and Dublin Airport was reporting 77,000 people coming through the airport daily last week.’’

‘’In the months leading up to St Patrick’s Day, DublinTown worked closely with businesses in the city, An Garda Síochána and Dublin City Council to ensure the week went smoothly, particularly in terms of safety, security and street cleaning.

It has certainly been successful and a St Patrick’s Day to remember.
