Yesterday's budget headlines focused on income tax, social welfare payments & transport.
Budget 2024 saw a €12 weekly social welfare increase, as well as income tax band changes and a reduction in USC.
College fees have also been reduced, while public transport for those aged under 26 will be up to 50% cheaper.
But, some other budgetary measures have gone under the radar.
The Irish Times reports that Ireland has committed to a €3.3 Million rise in contribution to the European Space Agency.
While €67 Million has been set aside to grow craft apprenticeships to over 16,000 places to tackle shortages.
Over €200 Million has also been earmarked to bring back vacant and derelict units.
Finally, an additional €20 Million has been provided for Garda operational expenditure, which will be used to further expand the Garda Dog Unit, as well as more road safety policing.
