Bereaved children have been making their voices heard today.
Barnardo's have launched their 'Mind the Gap' project which highlights how adults in a child's life can help with the grieving process.
Between 4-5 percent of young people lose a parent by the age of 18.
The 'Growing up in Ireland' study also shows that over 2 percent of 9-year olds have lost a parent, and 1 percent a sibling.
Gina Cantillon from Barnardos says kids handle grief better when adults heal with them.
