Appeal For Ordinary Heroes During Crisis

All Q102 News

We're being asked to become "Ordinary Heroes" in the midst of the health crisis.

The Crisis Cover Initiative says cleaning staff, disability care and project workers are among those who could keep vital services going through the pandemic.

It's asking people to sign up to it's list of helpers.

UCD Professor Anthony Staines says normal people can make a difference;

"The HSE has a separate process to find people with clinical skills

"If you have clinical or laboratory skills you should go to the HSE's website

"But if you have other skills and some time to offer us to help keep the homelessness services open - these are services for some of the most vulnerable people in our society - go to crisiscover.ie and register there", he asked.

Transport, admin, catering and cleaning skills are all needed.
