A motion on affordable homes for the Glass Bottle site in Ringsend has been adopted in the Dail.
It means homes in the area could cost around 250-thousand euro.
Up to 3,800 units will be built, with a quarter to be allocated for social and affordable housing.
Housing Minister Darragh O’Brien has said he’ll hold talks with all stakeholders in the project, once the Dublin Bay South by-election is held.
Work is expected to commence early next year.
