Eight more people diagnosed with Covid-19 disease have died.
54 people are now dead after contracting the killer bug.
Health chiefs have identified a further 295 people who are infected with the condition.
The total number of cases in the country is now 2,910.
Six of the latest victims had underlying health conditions.

Statement from the National Public Health Emergency Team
The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been informed that 8 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in Ireland have died, 5 females and 3 males. Median age of today’s deaths is 86.
